    Description

1968 Daytop Music Festival Original Concert Poster (One of a Kind) Jimi Hendrix.
This concert was organized to benefit ex- Junkies in their rehab process. The dates set for July 14-17th, featured acts such as Pete Seeger, Janis Ian, Blood Sweat & Tears, The Grateful Dead (who ended up having to cancel), and many more. Jimi Hendrix and the Jeff Beck Group ended up stepping in as last minute additions to the show.
Jeff Beck's account of the event: “Hendrix is the best jam I’ve ever had. Somebody organized the most monster jam of all, not from a status point of view. It really worked out perfectly. It was a concert for reformed drug addicts, but that was the least of it. They were fantastic people, they just sat for two hours and Jimi played ‘Foxy Lady.’ He was playing bass and he played a couple of my things. It just went on and on, we were jumping all over the place. Hendrix came to see me at that scene... - people used to come for the great battle” [Time Out, 16-22 February 1973].
This poster measures 9 1/4" x 12" and was printed on unique card stock. The condition is Good-Very Good with numerous handling bends/ corner pinholes (with a few edge stains). It has been professionally framed 14 1/2" x 17".
In addition, the poster was signed by a couple of the musicians at the festival, including Pete Seeger.
This is the only known concert poster to still exist from this event, and it's incredible that it's managed to survive all these years. It is a museum piece that will go great in any private collection.
