1991
Reproduction of 1968 Jimi Hendrix Eyeball Fillmore Poster Rick Griffin PP3 22 11/16"x 14". Minorwear to a couple of inches of edge.
Printed using original plates.
Rick Griffin ran off however many of these using the plates from the 1968 2nd edition. This one, with Ricks fingerprints, has achieved a bit of fame on its' own, there being a bit of confusion as to who owned the copyright and authorized the printing. The 1968 2nd run was called PP2 so this one has become known as PP3 since it was from the same plates. It's not to be confused with the official 3rd printing from Bill Graham Productions. That one is a smaller size and isn't glossy.
Ricks fingerprints are shown in the last two pictures, the one on the right is near the edge, at the end of 'Albert King'. The one on the left is at the bottom, at the beginning of the word 'lights'. Shown in the last two pictures.
The identifying mark for the PP2 is that the "BG 105", meaning Bill Graham, 105th poster printed, goes behind "TICKETS" so it looks like BG 10. That is a unique feature of the 2nd printing.

We were lucky enough to acquire a few of these posters and I thought I'd take this opportunity to clarify a few things as to their provenance at this point, due to some of the questions we have been asked over the last few months. One revision I have made in the title is changing the date to 1991. All of the articles I read gave this printing the 1992 date though Rick Griffin died in 1991. Internet research can get tricky.
This is not the 3rd printing of this poster.
That poster is a little smaller than the first two runs and has a white bubble in the lower right hand corner. This poster does not have that bubble and is the full size 14" height. It has the regular ID marks of the original 1968 2nd run except that it has Ricks fingerprints as mentioned above. Collectors have designated this run as "PP3', since the original 2nd run in 1968 was "pp2". This was also run on glossy stock like the original 2nd run.
We were very fortunate to acquire these classic poster and make them available to the public. We have had nothing but positive feedback from knowledgeable collectors!
