  • Color: Multi-color

  • Condition: These catalogs are very rare. The Montgomery Wards catalog has it's front cover but missing the back cover. The sears catalog is missing the cover and starts with page 3-278. Its possible that a page here or there may have been pulled out during the time the family used it. Due to their age they have discoloring. The majority of each catalog is intact with the spine. There are small dog eared or rolled corners and various tares on some pages. There are some markings with pen or pencil on some pages. You can tell that my Aunts and Uncles shopped the bike section or other items when they were children and clipped out some items. Due to their fragile state these are sold as-is and are not returnable. I tried to pick pages that represented the times. Since they are fragile I did not inspect every page as this would take hours. Notice in the Sears 1949 catalog you could order a huge cooling machine to pasteurize and chill your own milk (photo #8) from your own cow or order livestock!

    Description

LOT 1 1962 Montgomery Wards Christmas Catalog & 1 1949 Sears Mid Season Spring Catalog. These catalogs are very rare.
The Montgomery Wards catalog has it's front cover but missing the back cover. This catalog is packed with toys and other items for the family. The front of the catalog has a 12 days of Christmas. I noticed that on the 12th day it was gift recommendations for seniors or grandparents; for the women the most expensive item was about but for the man it had items up to around 0. There is a page suggesting women to leave the catalog open to a specific page to hint that they want pants for Christmas (instead of dresses). Times have changed. The famous 6 shooter gun is marketed to young boys see photos. The famous Shari Lewis is in this catalog too.
The Sears catalog is missing the cover and starts with page 3-278. Notice in the Sears 1949 catalog you could order a huge cooling machine to pasteurize and chill your own milk (photo #8) from your own cow or order livestock! This page also confirms the year 1949. Notice the girdles were designed to flatten your "toosh" but no one wants that these days. lol
(both catalogs) It's possible that a page here or there may have been pulled out during the time the family used it. Due to their age they have discoloring. I have priced this listing according the recent comps and deducted for their condition. These are a blast from the past. Lot's of conversion for a game night or to help pass the time and remember days gone by.
