Lot Consists of an Original, circa 1940's
F.W. WOOLWORTH CO. DEPARTMENT STORES - PENNY FORTUNE WEIGHT SCALE TICKET. In the 1930's thru 1960's if you put a penny in one of their fortune telling scales, you got a ticket with your weight printed off a round imprinter with arrow in blue ink (this one show 112lbs.) and on the back was a pre-printed fortune, this one has "YOU Are Very Fond Of Pleasure And Gaiety And Are Devoted To Sports And Amusements". Ticket has patent number and Made In U.S.A. printed on back as well.
Thin paper stock ticket is approx. 2" high x 1" wide and has some light overall toning to paper. Woolworth logo, text, imprint and fortune are all clean and legible. There are only light signs of handling on edges and corners. Ticket has been stored away in a paper collection since the 1940's.
